Rapid clicking, a single click, dim dashboard lights or no lights at all almost always means a flat 12-volt battery. That is a jump start: a regulated lithium pack, no cables on the paint, and the battery and alternator tested before the driver leaves so you know whether it will happen again tomorrow.
It cranks but never catches
If the starter spins normally and the engine never fires, the battery is fine and the problem is fuel, spark or something inside the engine. If the gauge is on empty, two gallons of gas or diesel gets you to a pump. Anything else is a flatbed to your shop for the price of the service call, with the car photographed before it moves.
Electric cars
An EV that will not unlock, will not boot its screen or shows a 12-volt warning can be jumped; the 12-volt battery is what it needs. A traction pack that has run to zero cannot be jumped and needs a flatbed to a charger. Tell dispatch which it is doing and the right truck comes.
